What to Expect:

Spring gets to the Blue Ridge Mountains slowly. However, the weather seems to know when the ski season is over and it suddenly gets warmer. It’s April in the mountains, so expect to experience all four seasons and pack accordingly. These days are glorious with no humidity or haze to limit the views! Temperatures can run from 40 to 70.  May brings long warm days and cool nights with trees and flowers coming into bloom. Memorial Day is the traditional start of the high season.  June is the time to come if you want to get in before the summer crowds and get some great deals.

Ideas:

• Hike the Linville Falls trails to see the waterfalls full with Spring rain and melting snow
• Bring your road (Appalachian & Parkway routes) or mountain bike (Benson Hollow, 18 Mile Ride or Buckeye Trail)
• Attend a play or concert by local groups such as the Blowing Rock Stage Company.
• Walking or hiking - we've got hundreds of miles of trails - from horizontal to vertical!
• Call for a tee-time at a local Golf Course and take advantage of some excellent terrain.
