The Appalachian Cultural Museum
Experience the premiere museum of the Appalachian region. The Appalachian
Cultural Museum features exhibits ranging from fossils to mountain music, looms
and weaving to self-portraits by mountain people. Spend an hour or an afternoon
exploring Appalachian natural and cultural heritage. The Appalachian Cultural
Museum is open year-round. Located in Boone on University Hall Drive, just off
Blowing Rock Road.

Blowing Rock Art and History Museum
Our mission is to promote the visual arts and history and to celebrate the rich
heritage of the mountains. The Board of Directors of the museum is currently
engaged in planning for a permanent building to be completed in Blowing Rock by
2008.
Horn in the West
105 Extension, Boone. Open late June to mid-August. Shows nightly except Monday
at 8pm. Exciting family entertainment of the history of the area. Admission
includes Hickory Ridge Homestead Living History Museum. All seats reserved,

Frescoes of Ashe County
The Churches of the Frescoes in Ashe County provide some beautiful works of art. Created by artist Ben Long, the frescoes in Ashe draw thousands of visitors each year. Visitors can see the frescoes at the Holy Trinity in Glendale Springs or at St. Mary's in West Jefferson.
Moses Cone Estate and Parkway Craft Center
At the turn of the century, Moses and Bertha Cone built their home here to have the natural beauty of the mountains at their front door. Today, their grand manor is home to abundant natural beauty of its own. Celebrating 50 years in its location, the Southern Highland Craft Guild continues to offer the best crafts from a nine-state region.
